Things that are most likely the devil:

Gourmet dessert truffles are basically chocolate-flavoured butter. Just sayin' (and salivating like the dog-raised-on-trans-fat that I am).

Indulge! It's Christmas!

Butter and chocolate are both dairy. Dairy is natural and good for you. Case closed.

DB Stewart said...

@DSWS But I've already been indulging, since May.
@Fran Chocolate is dairy? Oh I love your delusional ways.

Indulge while we can, if the cocoa bean goes extinct...
It's a good excuse, no?

A&G Good point. I forgot about that even though I did an entire post on it. Sheesh. I think I'll go eat some bonbons now.

now I'm salivating too!

dbs-I'll race you.
Can't remember who said it, but "Women scientists will never allow the cocoa bean to go extinct".
Neither will Nigella.:)

There should be a blogging law about posting such things!

That makes them the perfect food item to have with you in the wilderness in case you get lost. All that butter (and sugar) and chocolate will keep you going longer than an apple. Oh, wait, didn't Satan tempt Eve with an apple? Nevermind.

Yup, I have those stuck all over my body, except they went into my mouth as truffles and came out as cellulite on my butt... oh the joys of chocolate!!!

Cheeseboy said...

Agreed. But if they are in hell, count me in.

DB Stewart said...

@baygirl32 Those chocolate dollops of butter do look scrumptious, don't they?
@A&G That makes sense and doubly so if the one and only Nigella said it.
@Sandra I apologize. Don't take any of my drivel to heart.
@TGW Haha!
@AG Thank you for finding my blog and yes, enJOY the chocolate no matter the consequences. What does it really matter in the end? (No pun intended.)
@Cheeseboy See you there bud.

NOW I want chocolate and there is none in the house.
You are truely evil.

Truth be told, I'd really rather eat a peanut butter cup. I guess you can take a girl out of the sticks....

I tried to go a day without sweets yesterday. I only lasted an hour. Today I'm going to go for one hour and 1 minute.

DB Stewart said...

@Alittlesprite Sometimes yup.
@EllyLou Uh, peanut butter is well, basically butter too. Sorry.
@Michael I like your goal-setting style. Good luck.

Like you I have a terrible choc addiction but I refuse to indulge it because once I stop I can't stop. But I just try and pull the wool over my eyes like yesterday I had a hot chocoate but it didn't count because it was mainly wholesome milk. ha ha

Hell yes to overindulgence :-)

MMMMMMMM yep I have made two trips to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at the mall for truffles this week alone. I LOVE truffles.

DB Stewart said...

@EmmaK I try to rationalize my addiction too.
@DrC 'Tis the season to just give in.
@KL I really like the ones that are dusted with pure cocoa. Great combo of bitter at first, then sweet. Whoa. I sound like an idiot.
